Isn’t It Obvious?

I got this statement from my credit card company this month.

Due to recent changes in legislation, credit card companies are now required to provide information like how long it will take to pay off your current balance if you make only the minimum payment and how much in total interest and fees you have been charged this year. I guess that this in some way this is supposed to promote fiscal responsibility among the plebes.

But look closely at which boxes the statement highlights and which it does not. The only two highlighted are: the minimum payment and the date by which that payment is due. Not the Balance and the Payment Due Date, just the Minimum Payment and the Payment Due Date. Isn’t it obvious what you want me to do? Well, nice try.
